I am Nimcy Chu, from the Department of social sciences. It is my pleasure to share my experience in Fudan winter online course. Actually, this is my second time to take part in Fudan University's learning activity. The first time I came to Fudan University was in the summer vacation of my freshman year, and this time it happened to be in the winter vacation of my final year. So it is a beautiful and lovely circle and it seems like yesterday once more, like a closed loop of fate. There are many similarities in the experiences of these two journeys – new friends and new knowledge. Although there is corona stopping us from face to face activity and learning, the internet still enabled us to overcome the obstacles of time and space and the epidemic situation, bringing us this unforgettable and precious experience.
In this Fudan winter online course, I chose two courses: Professor Chen's international finance and Professor Li's Chinese modern economy. Both courses are rich and insightful. Professor Chen's international finance course is fruitful and insightful via delivering the complex exchange rate system to us. I am also considering applying for a postgraduate programme in business, so this course also provides a good opportunity for me, as a non-financial major student, to systematically learn financial knowledge. However, for a non-FBA, the course schedule is too intense and quite challenging. I believe that it would be organized and delivered much better if it were in the summer semester.
Also, Professor Li's Chinese modern economy course is also very interesting and thought-provoking. It presents several different perspectives, providing a more comprehensive perspective for us to understand the development, reforms and current situation of China's modern economy. The most gratifying part of this course is the Q&A sessions after class. We can ask questions about the definition of concepts or related events and get instant insightful feedback from the professor. In general, Fudan's winter online course is a valuable experience and a good opportunity for us to make good use of our winter break and enrich ourselves.
